Thursday, October 28, 2010 Review & An Oompa Giveaway

I came across Lunchbox Reviews recently and wanted to share it with you! They are a fantastic website dedicated to children focused iPhone and iPod apps and you can visit to review apps that you are considering downloading or you can leave reviews of your own for other parents to read. I think this is such a great idea and I have been spending a lot of time here because with 2 children who love Mommy's iPod Touch, we like to have a variety of apps downloaded that is good for them to play!

Daily Yummy and Yucky of the day are categories which are self explanatory. Yummy is a top pick for kids, as rated by parents and Yucky is a big thumbs down, you do not want to download these! I wish I had seen Lunchbox Reviews before I downloaded some of my apps for Nolan because a couple were listed in the Yucky category. I am certainly glad they were free at least and easy to get rid of.

You can narrow down your search by age, platform (iPhone, iTouch, iPad, etc.) and category and you will find direct links to all apps, which you can then download in iTunes. I think this website is incredible and it is now bookmarked in my favorites both on my computer AND my iTouch for quick reference whenever I am considering adding a new app. I highly recommend checking out Lunchbox Reviews ASAP.

Giveaway -

Lunchbox Reviews has very generously offered a $25 Oompa gift certificate (their sister site) for checking out their services. Rachael Ray Casserole dish from CSN Stores Review

1119In the not so distant past I told you that I had the opportunity to work with CSN Stores (over 200 stores to shop from!) for a review.  I got to choose the item, and after what seemed like hours (ok, Days) of research since there were so many cool stores to browse, I ended up choosing something practical, and something that has been on my wish list for years!

rrdishThe Rachael Ray Bubble and Brown 4.25 Qt. Oval Covered Casserole (in chocolate) was an item I had been eyeing for a while.  I always seemed to miss it on sale!

My husband and I love watching Rachael Ray’s 30-minute meals and tend to recreate her dishes in our own home. We love the look and function of her cookware, utensil and bakeware lines. We hope to own them all eventually.

When the product arrived at our door, surprisingly fast! We found that the dish lid was cracked. After a quick e-mail to (one of many CSN stores) a replacement lid was shipped that day. Talk about great costumer service!!

I am thrilled with the Rachael Ray Casserole and I’m excited I was able to review it for CSN Stores!  The shipping was extremely fast, and often, many items on CSN Stores ship for free!  Even some of the larger items like a kitchen island. (that’s on my new wish list! *Wink*)The interface was easy to use and I could hop and search around easily to find what I needed.

I will definitely be shopping with CSN in the future!

Right on the Walls Review & Giveaway!!

I was lucky enough to have found a great company while looking for unique home d├ęcor items. Right on the Walls is a vinyl wall art printing company.  I recently had the huge pleasure of requesting an item to review their products.  I LOVE THEM!!  I seriously cannot tell you how excited I am!  Not only are their products awesome, not only do they have a amazing selection of items to choose from, not only can you completely customize your own item, but they are have great customer service, and the items are really easy to install! I had a hard time deciding what decal I wanted. As you know we just moved into our new home so I have plenty of rooms and walls to choose from.
Right on the Walls makes vinyl wall art - it is like screen printing for hard surfaces.  You can put these vinyl art pieces on walls, mirrors, vehicles, etc.  Since they are printed, they can say just about anything, look any way, include any type of image or logo, and be any color of the rainbow!  Plus, they are REMOVABLE!!
LovedYouYesterdayI chose a love quote for the master bedroom. I would love to show you what it looks like on my walls but we just moved into our house and when you have small children decorating comes slowly. To say our new home is in need of new paint job is an understatement so once we get the new color on the walls be on the lookout for this decal and others. I just love wall decals. They are a breeze to put up and take down (not that you would want to but if you are moving like I did trust me its easy!)
I LOVE the look of vinyl wall art - it is matte, very thin, and blends into the texture of paint perfectly!  You would think that it’s hand painted, if you didn't know better.  Plus, the instillation was very simple.  No crazy tools required (they send you the little scraper with which to rub the image onto the walls), no prep work (honestly), and no fear - they have a 30 day customer satisfaction guarantee!!
They advertise that you can install the product in less than 10 minutes. I’ll have to get back to you on that soon but I’m sure that it will be so easy.
These are great for kids' bedrooms, difficult to decorate spaces (like entryways, borders, etc), and would make PERFECT gifts.  I plan to purchase one for my new nephew’s room, as well as every room in my home! I think they're so personal, unique, and are priced well!
Right on the walls have so many options, many of them customizable, and there are so many possibilities for use, I love this one for the laundry room.

For a limited time, Right on the Walls is offering a special 15% off code for all of my readers!  Just enter: BR15DCT at checkout.
GIVEAWAY: Right on the Walls is also giving one of my readers a $40 Gift Code to be used on anything you'd like from their great online store (redeemable for anything you'd like, but does not include shipping).
How to Enter: Do one or do them all, just leave a SEPARATE comment for each and be sure to include your email address so I can contact you if you win!
Mandatory Entry:
Visit Right on the Walls and tell me what item(s) is your favorite.  Come back here and leave me a comment telling me what you would spend your $40 gift code on.

They make playhouses that clip_image001are made from recycled cardboard and is 100% recyclable, reducing landfill waste. Not only are they eco-friendly, 5% of their profits are donated to organizations that feed hungry children in the US and around the world.
This Little Piggy’s House sent my children their own little playhouse:
Each house is easy to easy to construct and requires no glue or tape. Houses come with 2 doors, a window, planter box, mailbox, dormer and chimney. You can find an assembly video on their site. You can either purchase a playhouse already painted or a plain cardboard one to paint yourself! Size 22″ x 24″ x 28″ They also come in white!
Prices range from $49.99 for non-painted to $199.99 for hand-painted.

SPECIAL OFFER: When you Purchase a playhouse at normal price, decorate it and send them back photos. You get  a 50% rebate.  So your new price is only $30 (plus shipping). PLUS whoever has the best design, (by Nov. 30th) Will get a $100 prize!! What a DEAL!  Enter FamilyTreasure at checkout.

REVIEW: They loved helping their Papa put it together and has provided them with hours of fun! How could a kid not love it? It’s cardboard! They somehow ALWAYS want the cardboard box instead of what’s inside, right?  I LOVE all the detailing in these playhouses. The mailbox and chimney are adorable. Although I love the though of the painted houses (they are just too cute!!) I loved being able to make ours our own and the whole family had fun making it our own.

And honestly, I just couldn’t pay $199.99 for a hand-painted one, even though they are beautiful. My children just wouldn’t notice the difference and wouldn’t appreciate it enough to make it worth the high price. I would have loved this playhouse even more if the roof somehow came attached to the house so my kids couldn’t detach it. I know that would help it stay up longer keep me from having to repair it as much. Overall, I am so thankful to This Little Piggy for sending the house and I just love how detailed and cute it is! So much work went into the design, I have never seen any playhouse like it!

This Little Piggy’s House not only offers the adorable playhouses, they also offer Games and clothing!

Piggy Paint Review and Giveaway

Every time I put nail polish on my daughter I have to sit there and blow on it for what seems like forever. It takes forever to dry and then as soon as she gets up and walks around it's chipped... Sound familiar???

Enter Piggy Paint The All natural, Non toxic Nail polish and Remover. And to top it off It's WATER BASED!!
From their Website: Say good-bye to harsh, smelly chemicals and hello to Piggy Paint™…it’s as Natural as Mud!

We just tested out Piggy Paint for this review and It's amazing!!

We tried out the Forever Fancy Piggy Paint and It's a beautiful color. Not one I would choose for an adult but hey it’s not made for us grown-ups! (not that it isn’t OK for us to use it) My Daughter loves the pink color and feels like a princess when she gets her nails painted.

So, when we decided to try out piggy paint Lila already had some old polish on her toes and I decided to try the Nail Polish Remover. It had No Harsh smells, and In fact it was Odorless!! It worked like a charm and took off her old polish in No time. It was really a great product. And the best part was that I only used 2 cotton balls and It will last a while!

Then I painted her Piggies with the Forever Fancy polish. I LOVE this nail polish. It also has no harsh smell. It's not runny so I got the excess off and painted away. I was able to do most of one foot on 1 brush full of paint!!! She loved getting all pretty and my niece (also 2) now requests that I bring the piggy paint when I come to visit.

Now It dried in about a minute time. It was quick, easy, painless and She was up and running within 3 minutes! She loved that it didn't take long, and I loved that it was easy.

Price: $8.99 for the nail polish and $8.99 for the Remover as well. These are down from $9.99 for the polish and $10.50 for the remover. It's time to stock up!

Scandle Review

I love candles… especially the ones that smell good. I have them everywhere, big or small you can find one tucked away in any room in my home. And like any woman I like getting a massage from my sweetie.
I recently was sent a Scandle to review and it combines the two!Scandle is a soy candle that melts into a body lotion or massage oil. It can also be used for manis and pedis. No longer is a candle just a candle… it’s a Scandle!! Many candles smell good if you sniff them, but don’t give off the awesome fragrance once they are lit. This is NOT the Scandle. The Scandle fills the air with the great scent and if used as a lotion or massage oil, you are able to smell just as nice! The Scandle is also great for the environment. Because it is soy, it emits less soot and toxins that a regular paraffin candle. I am slowly becoming more environmentally friendly… and it’s not even hard because there are so many wonderful products on the market to make it easy and do-able.

What They say about their product - Our Body Massage Candles

Imagine a candle that looks and smells as beautiful on your skin as it does when you light it. The Scandle Body Massage Candle is a world apart from any body massage candle or body massage oil you'll ever try.

The Scandle Body Massage Candle is a fragrant hand-poured body massage candle that, when burned, melts to create a healthy body massage oil that can be used to enhance the healthy of your skin. Not only, is The Scandle Body Massage Candle healthy for your skin, but it is also healthy for the environment...emitting less soot and toxins into the environment than parrafin candles.

The Scandle Body Massage Candle is perfect as a body moisturizer, warm body massage oil, or as a soothing Vitamin E rich lotion for manicures and pedicures.

I love the scandle and will definitely be ordering some in the future. They would make awesome gifts for so many different people. If you want your own scandle, you can order them here.

Tech Tuesday: Why we love Amazon & Bea's Winner!

first for the winner - congrats to Clair. He won his gift basket of choice. Enjoy your treat :) I'm sure everyone is jealious. and now on to our new feature..........

Welcome to the first ever Tech Tuesday, a new segment suggested by my wife. I’m Robert, her husband, and am quite tech savvy. So here, on Tuesdays, you’re going to get a review that will assist you in going high-tech in today’s world.
For the first Tech Tuesday, I’m going to review a website. With Halloween right around the corner, it’s a hop, skip, and a jump to the holiday shopping season. That doesn’t mean we want or need to wait until Black Friday to start shopping. The number one site in my opinion for shopping for all holiday specials is, hands-down, Amazon. Many of you may have heard of them, but let me give you some on my experiences with them.

First, one Christmas, my wife wanted to get Season 3 of the hit TV series Grey’s Anatomy. I wanted to get it for her on Blu Ray, which was around $90 in stores. However, on Amazon, I was able to get a brand-new copy of the movie for around $25. That’s a huge savings! Plus, it beats getting out of bed and fighting the crowds on Black Friday.

A second reason to shop Amazon is they have amazing service. I have a Kindle, which is an e-reader device. My children got a hold of it and, well, let’s just say, kids won. I contacted Amazon and, since my Kindle was still in the one year warranty, they sent me a brand new one free of charge. That was something they didn’t have to do, but they did.

So, if you’re looking to save a buck or two (or many) and want to have to confidence of top-notch customer service if a problem arises, look no further than You’ll be glad you looked, and you may be able to knock off several items on your Christmas lists.

Join me next week when we get talking about TV’s and which ones to get for each type of person, along with all the bells, lights, and accessories to have an amazing entertainment system. Tech on!

For Years plus size women were stuck with simple and not so trendy clothing.... but being plus size, is no longer a barrier for being fashionable. Thanks to companies such as the fashion scene is completely different, than it was even just a few years ago.

My review -

I wish I had found years ago! I love all the fashionable choices. I’ve ordered a few items from them (the dress on the left being one) and although I found that the size runs slightly small, I still love the quality of their products. The fit issue I chalk up to any clothing retailer, all brands have different size fits. If in doubt order a size larger. I plan to order from more often.  I’ve already found a fantastic dress and sweater for fall. Try them you’ll love them too.
