A frozen washcloth, a rubber teether, frozen foods, teething tablets, baby oragel, pain relievers…
The list goes on and on from natural remedies to old wives tales to modern conveniences. My lifesaver was a Baltic Amber teething necklace I ordered it from eBay and it cost a fortune. If only I had found Inspired by Finn first!! Kate from Inspired by Finn sent me a beautiful Amber necklace for an adult. I love it! It’s stylish, holistic and a perk for me now my children and I have matching necklaces.
Now, what is baltic amber you ask? It is not a stone but a fossilized tree resin. Historically, baltic amber has been used in Europe as a natural and traditional remedy and curative for many ailments for centuries. (It is commonly known as "teething jewelry" there because it has been successfully used for treating teething discomfort for hundreds of years.) When Baltic amber is worn on the skin, the skin’s warmth releases trace amounts of healing oils from the amber. These oils contain succinic acid and are absorbed into the skin. The lighter and more "milky" the color of the amber, the higher the amount of succinic acid in it.
Baltic amber helps by:
• Relieving pain
• Strengthening the body's immune system
• Restoring energy
• Maintaining wellness
• Helping to break a cycle of (chronic) inflammation
Not only are they functional, they are so pretty! Inspired by Finn carries many different colors (from butter to cherry colored amber) and designs of both amber and Hazelwood jewelry.
Because of the CPSIA Small Parts Legislation law passed last February, Inspired by Finn can no longer sell jewelry specifically for children under three, but many people (including ME!) got our Baltic amber for "teething necklaces" for our children. We have had great luck using them for this purpose though, so I did want to comment about it! (Baltic amber has been used to help with teething pain for centuries in Europe!)
Inspired by Finn has offered graciously offered my readers a chance to win a beautiful Baltic Amber necklace of their own. (16in, or smaller)
